Teen Gothic

This is the third time this has happened so I know it's not a coincidence.

I'm a babybat and only started becoming more visibly alternative in the past few years – I have black hair, snakebites, a septum piercing and very visibly tattooed arms and legs. Today I was walking through the shopping centre, just in shorts and a t-shirt, no alternative makeup on, and two adult-sized (but they certainly behaved like children) men saw me and made fake puking noises.

I try not to let it get to me because at the end of the day I'm very happy with my style, I finally feel like the outward me matches the way I always saw myself in my head, but I'm a sensitive bean and it's hard not to feel self-conscious and sad after something like this, especially since it's happened a few times in public now.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia for reference – I'd heard of boys barking at goth girls before but the puking thing seems to not be so common, at least when I've tried to search for similar experiences online.

I'm 28 and recently started to listen to gothic music genres. I found that I enjoy Dark wave and Ethereal Wave a lot and love the vibes of the genres. I'm trying to learn about about history of gothic culture. I feel like I'm to old to join the community, as many seem to find the genre/community in teens.

Like everyone already knows goth women are heavily sexualised and misperceived, but ^{every single time} I look for anything goth related on Reddit, I’m just met with so much gross and vile sexual fetish content and it just reminds me all the time, it’s so hard to escape. I literally cannot stand these onlyfans airheads selfishly using the goth label to attract even more internet degenerates to make money and then make actual goths look bad. It’s so enraging since ‘goth’ has been such a big part of me for so long since I was little and means so much to me, just for egirls to snatch it and shit on it, turning me into a walking fucking kink.

As it starts hitting the spooky season i've noticed just way too many events but not enough time!!! anything you guys looking forward to in your city or such?

I was browsing new bands to listen to I really like there music. I’ve watched a few of there live shows. There really good, if you haven’t listens to them, I highly recommend them.
